The Arts and Culture Leadership Award recognizes businesses and organizations that demonstrate outstanding leadership in advancing Brampton's arts, culture, and tourism sectors while generating meaningful economic impact. This award celebrates organizations that create experiences, programming, and initiatives that drive visitor engagement, support creative industries, and contribute to the growth of Brampton's cultural economy. This category specifically recognizes organizations that are creating and promoting arts and cultural economic impact, not general community programming or philanthropic activity alone.

Requirements

Ideal Nominee Profile 

This award is best suited for a business or organization that demonstrates: 

  • Leadership in the arts, culture, tourism, or creative industries 
  • Creation of experiences that drive economic activity and visitor engagement 
  • Active support of local artists, creatives, and cultural ecosystems 
  • Innovation in programming, events, or cultural experiences 
  • A measurable contribution to Brampton's identity as a cultural and creative destination 

Examples of Achievement 

Nominees may demonstrate excellence through: 

  • Development or delivery of cultural, artistic, or tourism initiatives that attract visitors or increase local engagement 
  • Creation of events, festivals, or experiences that generate economic activity or destination appeal 
  • Leadership in supporting local artists, makers, and creative industries 
  • Innovation in hospitality, visitor experience, or cultural programming 
  • Contributions to placemaking, cultural identity, or the growth of the local creative economy 

Eligibility Requirements 

To be considered, nominees must: 

  • Be a business or organization actively involved in arts, culture, tourism, or creative industries
  • Demonstrate leadership in creating experiences or initiatives that contribute to economic or cultural development
  • Provide evidence of measurable impact on visitor engagement, economic activity, or community participation
  • Contribute to or support the arts and cultural ecosystem connected to the Brampton community 
  • Nominees must have substantial business operations within the City of Brampton and/or be a member in good standing of the Brampton Board of Trade.
  • Nominees must agree to attend the awards gala and participate in promotional activities if selected as finalists.
  • Members of the Brampton Board of Trade Board of Directors (and their employees),  staff, and participating partners are not eligible for nomination.
