The Brampton Steelheads are a community driven organization servicing the GTA and surrounding areas, committed to producing a competitive, inclusive, entertaining, and family- oriented product both on and off-ice. The Steelheads proudly finished their first year in Brampton, successfully building and strengthening relationships throughout the city and its surrounding communities. Community remains our top priority, and our mission continues to be centered around inspiring youth and promoting the growth of hockey.
We are deeply involved in the community through school visits, minor hockey programs, and participating in and hosting fundraising events. Our players and staff are dedicated to making meaningful connections with young people, regularly attending schools, local hockey practices, and community gatherings throughout the season.
This past year, we also hosted several special games in support of important causes, including:
Pink at the Rink - to raise awareness for cancer
A Toy Drive and Teddy Bear Toss game - providing gifts to children in need during the holidays
Bell Let's Talk and Talk Today games - promoting mental health awareness
A Newcomers to Canada game - where 50 new Canadians were sworn in during a pregame ceremony marking the second event of its kind in league history and the largest citizenship ceremony ever held at an OHL game
A Women in Sports game - featuring a pregame panel with female leaders in the sports industry, offering young women the opportunity to connect with and learn from established professionals
We're proud of the impact we've made, raising nearly $20,000 to support minor hockey teams and an additional $15,000 for non-profit organizations during the 2024–25 season. In total, our efforts benefited over 50 minor hockey teams and 30 non-for-profits.
